Danielle Bramwell
Hello, I am Danielle and I am the Manager and Co-founder of Pixies Pre-School. Myself and my sister, Hayley, set up Pixies Pre-School shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic.
I gained my Level 3 in Childcare almost 20 years ago. I have worked in a private nursery, working my way up from nursery nurse to room leader. I have also worked in a primary school as a Teaching Assistant and several preschools.
I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences that promote children’s growth and development. I work closely with all members of our team to develop a curriculum that is both developmentally appropriate and engaging for young children.
I am dedicated and passionate and I believe that I bring a unique perspective and skill set to the field of early childhood education.
I am the preschool’s designated Safeguarding Officer and I am fully paediatric first aided trained.
Hayley Miller
I am Hayley and I am the co-founder of Pixies Pre-School. Danielle (my sister) and I opened Pixies in March 2021. I previously worked in financial services for 10 years before transitioning into early childhood education after having my own two children.
Despite me not having a formal education in the field, I have gained a wealth of knowledge from various courses, seminars and my colleagues at Pixies. I hope to start my level 3 qualification in childcare after the summer. I am fully paediatric first aided trained.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, the outdoors and cooking.
At the preschool, I am passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment where children can explore, learn, and grow at their own pace.
Maria Rojas
I have been working in childcare for six years. I started as a volunteer in a preschool teaching Spanish to children, and very quickly realised how much I enjoy working with children and that I would like it to be my line of work.
Since then, I have gained my Level 3 qualification in Childcare and I have been recently promoted to Deputy Manager.
Working in early years is challenging but the most rewarding job I have ever done. I like to create different learning experiences that feed the children’s imagination. Seeing the world through a child’s eyes and witnessing children blossom into individuals with different opinions and ideas is wonderful.
I am fully paediatric first aided trained.
Melanie Hermitage-Gunn
I am Mel, I hold a Level 3 qualification in Childcare and I have 8 years experience in a preschool setting.
I enjoy all aspects of working with children, from helping to educate the children and further their learning to teaching them about hygiene, helping with their physical development and learning new social skills. My passion in childcare is expressive art and design. I really enjoy helping the children with both child-led and adult-led art and crafts activities.
I am patient and actively listen to the children which allows me to quickly build up trust with them.
I am fully paediatric first aided trained.
