Fees & Registration

We are open Term-Time only for 38 weeks a year, closely following the local primary schools (Rose Acres and Takeley) term dates.

We are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm.  We offer full and half day sessions:

An option for a longer morning session is also available (9am-1pm).

The hourly rate is £5.50 per hour.

Children that are still in nappies and are not yet toilet trained are to provide their own nappies.

Children doing a full day session/s are required to bring in their own packed lunch and water bottle.  Please note that we are a nut-free preschool and promote healthy eating.

Our registration fee is £25.  This is a non-refundable fee that holds you child’s place at the preschool and covers the registration process.  This is payable via BACS.  Payment instructions for the Registration Fee is included on the Registration Form.

We provide both a morning and afternoon snack to all children.  This mainly consists of fresh fruit, vegetables, raisins, crackers, breadsticks, houmous and cheese.  We source all our seasonal fruit and vegetables from a local supplier in Takeley.  On colder mornings we like to be able to offer the children the option of some warm porridge, toast or crumpets.

We also provide milk and water during snack time.  The children have access to drinking water throughout the day and they are free to help themselves (we of course help the little ones).

We are able to offer places for parents/carers wishing to use their funding entitlement as well as non-funded places (or a combination of both).

Universal offer: All children aged 3 & 4 years are eligible for a minimum of 15 hours of funded childcare per week from the term after their 3rd 

Extended offer: An additional 15 hours per week for 3 & 4 year olds of working families, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria. 

Funded 2’s: Some children are eligible at 2 years, from the term following their 2nd birthday, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.

At Pixies Pre-School we believe that It is extremely important that your child feels safe and secure in their preschool environment before they start their permanent sessions.  With this is mind we offer settling in sessions for your child before they start their preschool adventure.

We offer 2 one-hour sessions and 1 half day session to assist with the settling in process.  Should either yourself or your child’s key worker believe that more settling in sessions are required, this will be discussed with the preschool manager and assessed on an individual basis.

Each child will be assigned a nursery nurse who will be their key worker.  Your child’s key worker will support them throughout their time at preschool.  It will be the key worker’s responsibility to do regular observations on your child.  In doing this they will be able to track their progress to ensure they are meeting their milestones, plan their next steps and share their learning journey with you, their parent/guardian.

We are really excited to introduce to you our new Preschool Software, Blossom Educational.  Part of this new system will mean that we will be using an online platform to track your child’s Learning Journey.  We will also be able to communicate with you via a Parent Communication function using the Blossom Educational app.
